This annual scholarship programme applies to high flying, well-rounded candidates who wish to pursue full-time studies locally and overseas. Available scholarship programmes are as follows:

YSD Skill Enrichment Programme
Students who are interested to pursue technical courses at undergraduate, diploma and certificate levels can apply for sponsorship and enrolment at the following Sime Darby Skills Centers:
  • Sime Darby Plantation Academy (SDPA)
    • SDPA is established to drive the Plantation Division needs of nurturing a pool of highly skilled individuals for palm-oil industry. The academy has strong academic collaboration with selected public universities locally and offers various specialised diploma and degree courses, such as Diploma of Agriculture and Diploma of Mechanical Engineering.  - Find out more 
  • Sime Darby Nursery and Health Sciences College (SDNC)
    • SDNC is one of the pioneers in nursing education in Malaysia and offers opportunities for students to experience high quality nursing education. They will be primarily trained at the award-winning Sime Darby Medical Centre Subang Jaya and Sime Darby Specialist Centre Megah. This academy offers technical courses such as Diploma in Nursing and Diploma in Medical Laboratory. - Find out more 
  • Sime Darby Industrial Academy (SDIA)
    • SDIA is an approved National Vocational Training Centre, recognised by the Skills Development Department, Ministry of Human Resources, Malaysia. The academy mainly offers specialised technical courses in the heavy equipment industry, such as Heavy Equipment Technician Certification  (MLVK) Level 1, 2, 3. - Find out more
YSD Public Policy ProgrammeThis programme promotes development of good public policy via education sponsorship of civil servants and in collaboration with top-notch universities. This 3-month customised course focuses on creating a solid platform in driving significant changes in formulating good public policies for the nation’s benefit.  YSD works closely with Public Service Department of Malaysia to promote value-added initiatives in this programme.

YSD Special Support Bursary Programme
This annual bursary programme applies to promising students from low income families and needy backgrounds through education sponsorships. The amount of combined family income and academic performance are among the deciding factors to award this bursary programme.

YSD Special Needs Bursary Programme
This Special Needs programme focuses on providing sponsorships for promising students with disabilities (OKU) to experience best learning opportunities and educational facilities locally and overseas. This programme enables YSD to recognise and maximise potential and talent of OKU students who are academically excellent.

YSD Special Award Bursary Programme
The Special Award Bursary Programme awards education sponsorships to selected individuals who deserve special comsideration from the YSD Board of Council due to hardship and difficulty in life.

The new 3-month YSD-Cambridge Public Policy Scholarship Programme for high potential leaders in civil service at University of Cambridge, United Kingdom is now open for enrolment.
